ROSS Bain will look to put the disappointment of a closing round collapse behind him when he begins his challenge for a place at July's Open Championship in the International Final Qualifier in Singapore today.
The 32-year-old Dubai-based Scot was on course for his maiden Asian Tour title in Thailand on Sunday but, having shared the lead with a round to go, he crashed to a 76 and toppled out of the running.

Bain, the leading Scot in last year's Open at C
arnoustie, now has the chance to console himself with a trip to Royal Birkdale in the summer and is one of 63 players battling for the four qualifying spots up for grabs at the Sentosa club.

He is joined in the 36-hole shoot-out by fellow- Scots, Simon Dunn and Lloyd Saltman, winner of the silver medal as the top amateur in the 2005 Open at St Andrews.

Other players in a strong field include India's Jyoti Randhawa, who has played in four previous Opens, and rising Korean player, Noh Seung-yul, twice a runner-up on the Asian circuit this season.

Kraft bridges 15-year gap

GREG Kraft shot a two-under-par 70 to hold off Bo van Pelt down the stretch for a one-shot victory at the Puerto Rico Open.

Kraft, whose last win came at the Deposit Guarantee Classic in Mississippi in 1993, finished at 14-under 274 to claim first prize at this inaugural event.

His win 15 years ago came in an unofficial event played at the same time as the Masters.
