AUSTRALIAN Geoff Ogilvy parred the final nine holes to eke out a one-stroke victory at the CA Championship.
The Australian, who was two strokes clear with nine holes left when the final round resumed on Monday, was not at his best, but he did enough to limp across the line for his first victory in nearly two years.

Helped by an unlikely chip-in par at the 13th hole, he carded 71 to finish at 17-under-par 271, while Fiji's Vijay Singh, American Jim Furyk and South African Retief Goosen tied for second on 16 under.

Tiger Woods' streak of seven consecutive victories ended when he finished two strokes behind, although he gave himself a glimmer of hope with three late birdies.

"I made too many mistakes," said Woods, who shot 68 to finish two strokes off the pace.

England's Graeme Storm was never a serious factor, closing with eight pars and a bogey to shoot 71 and tie for sixth, four shots back.

Still, it was a good performance in just his second World Golf Championships event.

Ogilvy became just the third player to win more than one WGC event, joining Woods (15) and Darren Clarke (two).

It is his first victory since the 2006 United States Open, and sets him up nicely for next month's Masters.

He came to the dangerous par-four 18th with a one-stroke lead, and piped his drive down the middle of the fairway, before hitting his second shot to the heart of the green. He hit his first putt to within a foot of the hole and, after Singh's birdie chip missed, only had to tap in for victory.

There are many players out there who have their own agendas and lives to get on with.
Geoff is just one, and good to see Alistair Forsyth giving people something to think about too.
It only makes the respective tours all the richer in character.
Well done to both, and it looks like being a mouth watering season ahead with many young talents coming to the fore.
Bring it on!
