ENGLAND’S Samantha Head made a fine start to stand joint second after the first round of the SAS Ladies Masters.
The Bedford-based 36-year-old hit nine birdies at Larvik Golf Club in Norway – including six in a row from the ninth – to lie seven under alongside Italy’s Veronica Zorzi and Sophie Giquel of France.

That trio was four shots adrift of leader Lisa Holm Sorensen who shot an 11-under 62. Sorensen’s round equalled the lowest ever score on the Ladies European Tour, previously held by England’s Kirsty Taylor and Swede Nina Reis.
