AS the 2010 European Seniors Tour gets underway today in Mauritius, it has been announced that Fairmont St Andrews will host the Cleveland Golf/Srixon Scottish Senior Open for the next two years.
After being shared between The Roxburghe and Dalmahoy for a spell, the event moved to the Torrance Course on the outskirts of St Andrews earlier this year and proved a resounding success on a layout that had undergone a £17 million revamp.

010 event will be staged from August 20-22 and Englishman Glenn Ralph, this year's winner, is likely to face a strong challenge from the likes of Torrance, the Seniors Tour No 1 for a third time in 2009, and another former Ryder Cup captain, Ian Woosnam.
Four weeks earlier, Torrance and Woosnam will also be in the field for The Senior Open Championship presented by MasterCard when that event returns to Scotland, at Carnoustie.
Paul Bush OBE, chief operating officer at EventScotland, the national events agency, said: “Fairmont St Andrews is one of Scotland’s most iconic golf courses and provides an incredible backdrop for the game.
“EventScotland has supported the Scottish Senior Open for eight consecutive years now and that support forms part of our commitment to the sport in the years leading up to the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.”
