Palace end bid as Hearts snub £300,000 for Christian Nade

HEARTS have refused a £300,000 offer from Crystal Palace for striker Christian Nade, with Vladimir Romanov valuing the Frenchman at double that figure.
Neil Warnock, manager of the English Championship side, stressed today that he will not return with another bid after being rebuffed for Nade and has now turned his attention to alternative signing targets.

Watford are monitoring the situation and may be willing to meet Romanov's £600,000 asking price. However, that would be conditional upon them raising funds by negotiating the £3million sale of defender Danny Shittu, who is attracting serious interest from Rangers.

Nade, 23, arrived in Edinburgh last August from Sheffield United for a fee reported to be in the region of £500,000. However, the Evening News has learned that Hearts have paid just £220,000 for the player to date.

Romanov, the club's majority shareholder, is now holding out for hefty profit on a player he is keen to offload.

Warnock told the Evening News that Hearts' demands for Nade were excessive, saying: "We won't be taking it any further because they are asking too much money. We offered £300,000 for Nade but we won't be going any higher."

Watford would be willing to match Nade's £4000-a-week wage at Tynecastle if they decide to submit an official offer, although negotiations with club officials may prove difficult while Romanov attempts to recruit a new manager.

Nade has largely flattered to deceive in Scotland, scoring just five goals in 27 appearances last season. Coaching staff at Riccarton harbour concerns over his general fitness and, provided Romanov receives his desired price, the striker is expected to leave before the transfer window closes on August 31.

He would become the latest in a series of first-team departures.

Meanwhile, Hearts were due to take their place at European football's most prestigious table today as the continent's top clubs convene in Geneva to form the board of the new European Club Association.

Along with Newcastle United, the Tynecastle side are the new inductees to a group previously recognised as the elite G14 forum. Hearts' representative in Switzerland is Mindaugas Nikolicius, a financial consultant from the club's parent company, Ukio Bankas Investment Group.

He will take part in an initiation that will see Hearts join illustrious European sides such as Real Madrid, Manchester United and AC Milan as part of a new association to protect the interests of top clubs.

I'm glad we're now a top club and in such exalted company.
As a result I'm no longer worried about our debt or survival and I'm now eternally grateful to Mt Vlad for elevating us to these giddy heights.
All those of us who have already bought a season ticket are vindicated and the rest of us had better hurry up.
We obviously don't need a manager and can continue trying to sell every item of family silver we posess.
Lets get some new stars in from Mr Vlads eastern contacts. Lets keep reducing the head office head count too -we obviously don't need them to be a big club!
And who needs to talk to the fans when you're a big club at the top table who needs them anyway

#13 "bubblin" can fight his own batles of course, but here's the answer: http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/data/method3/trank2009.html

Hearts and Aberdeen have the 3rd-highest scottish team co-efficient so I guess someone in the SFA made the decision to invite Hearts for the comedy value of seeing and hearing some Lithuanian small-time banker trying to pretend he gives a rat's 4rse about Scottish football.

Back for another pasting i see.....away for a couple hours after embarrassing yourself earlier, good round of golf was it?

That post reeks of jealousy and annoyance that Hearts have been invited to sit at the top table with Europes elite....but what would the SFA, UEFA and the rest know about Football eh muchacho? you and your little pretend fantasy group SPL should be Governing Europes Football....

Nade is the worst player ever to wear a Hearts jersey. I honestly don't believe he's even good enough to play for Hibs. Seriously, he's that bad.
21

Who?,

07/07/2008 12:39:14
I heard that hibs were going to be invited along but they were too busy rearing another batch of young players that all would go onto to play for the world major clubs winning european cups every season. Hibs were also too busy giving another demonstration to the brazilian national team on how to play flair football.

I also heard that the old firm clubs were asked along but they declined as there were no scottish refs to make favourable decision for them!

Question for everybody -

As we know, Riley is quite fond of the phrase "HEEHAW".

Do we think this is because:

a) He's an a$$; or

b) That's what he's got between his lug'oles?

I am seriously considering starting a supporters fund to pay the gaps in mad vlads estimation of hearts duds.

If we all put in a fiver we could easy make the £300,000 to send Nade to Palace. In fact, if we did that I would book his flights and hire the dump truck to take him to edinburgh airport.

He is without a doubt the most talentless player I have ever seen. Not only that but he got fatter after every game he played. If he is still with us come the start of the season be prepared for the Elliot Nade wonder partnership to take the league by storm!!!!

Vlad! get it together! take the money for the duds and invest it in players who actually want to play for hearts.

There are a few good players who would move on the cheap just now! Riordan, Cowie, Niculae. Get a grip!

Actually quite glad to hear he's 'only' on £4k a week... still far too much for what he's done but with an ego seemingly as big as his waistline had worried we were getting fleeced for even more. His wage certainly isn't linked to bonuses for winning headers... (Vlad's contract guy - are you reading?)

s0d0ff riley. I think now you've finally said something almost amusing (*4) you can stop coming onto these boards now. It took a while, but you got there in the end... run along now, there's a good boy

33 - no' bad GF, although working my backside off at the minute (not in the Mixu/Sergina way though!).

No response to my post from Riley, but you get both barrels for daring to respond to mine! What a weirdo. You can tell when you've touched a nerve though, he just doesn't bother to respond or launches into a stream of vitriol.

My problem is that the (ahem) "cyberwar" is now generating more interest in me than the goings-on at tynie are. Maybe I'm getting slightly immune to the highs and lows. Maybe I just like putting people in their place. Who knows.

#35 Tartan Pimpernel.

Hmmmmm im not sure, maybe... just maybe we could sign a few of those classy players from Elfsborg. Although you are probably right, we could only dream of attracting top notch players like that. They wouldnt possibly leave the dizzy heights of the Sweedish Premier League to come to "Declinecastle" as you so cleverly put it. I also dont know how we could coax them out of their lucrative contracts, think of all the Sweedish Crowns we would have to stump up for that. We would probably have to throw in a few cows for their farms and an ikea flatpack chest of drawers as well to seal the deal.

Didnt think a Hobo would have the gaul to comment today on the state of affairs at Hearts after Saturdays mesmorising display!

I'm in the minority but i want him to stay and fight for a place. Think about it, Warnock had him at Sheffield Utd and now wants him for Palace. He did show that he can play when he is fit and in a better side with confidence he get back to that. Down to him though, if he doesn't then he'll be punted at the end of next season but he deserves at least a season to judge him.

Yep, looks like he will be staying, and keep the average weight of the squad at a respectable level.

Sounds like someone with a depth of knowledge of Scottish Football. Possibly accompanied by the regional sales manager of Trotters Independent Trading (Offices in New York, Paris and Peckham).
