FERNANDO SCREPIS' agent jets into Edinburgh tomorrow morning for urgent discussions with Hearts in an effort to save the Argentine's Tynecastle career.
The club have intimated a desire to renegotiate the terms of Screpis' contract, which runs until 2011, leaving the player concerned that his agreement could be terminated in a similar fashion to Mauricio Pinilla's departure earlier this week.

Buenos Aires-based Juan Cobian arrives in the Capital tomorrow and will meet with Anatoli Korobochka and other senior officials on Screpis' behalf, hoping to preserve his client's Hearts career.

Vladimir Romanov, the club's majority shareholder, recently attempted to alter the conditions of Pinilla's three-year deal by reducing his weekly wage. This resulted in the Chilean severing ties with the club and Screpis is fearful of suffering similar treatment to his fellow South American.

The 29-year-old earns a modest £1500 a week in comparison to Pinilla's £12,000 weekly wage and Cobian stressed to the Evening News that his client is keen to remain in Edinburgh next season.

"Fernando wants to stay, he's got three years left on his contract and he is happy at Hearts," said Cobian. "They want to negotiate the terms of his contract and that's why I'm coming over. Fernando played some games near the end of last season and did well so we will see how the discussions go."

Screpis made five appearances for Hearts during the second half of last season and impressed with his vision and passing ability in central midfield. Clubs in Italy's second division are monitoring his situation but the player, who qualifies to play in the UK through his Italian passport, would prefer to continue his career in Scotland after arriving from FBK Kaunas in January.

One player whose departure has already been finalised is defender Jose Goncalves. The Portuguese has agreed a season-long loan with German second division side Nuremberg which could lead to a permanent transfer next summer, for Nuremberg have first option to purchase Goncalves outright for a pre-arranged fee.

"He brings everything along. He is a giant talent and a thoroughbred athlete with big ambitions," explained Thomas von Heesen, the Nuremberg manager.

Meanwhile, Hearts transfer target Mark Kerr will join Aberdeen next week on a two-year contract.

It's a shame to see Goncalves go as that leaves us with only one quality left back.

From what I've seen of Screpis the boy is an outstanding talent. Get him signed up on big wages for a long time. We need more players of his ilk to wear out new strip.

I hate to say this and it really pains me to say it but I think Screpis will have his contract terminated by mutual consent, although from what I have heard he is a fantastic talent.

I don't really understand is why Roman Romanov or the other board members play a part in the manager search or transfers.

Some of you may disagree with me but as far as manager (British style is concerned) I would give Adrian Bothroyd, Craig Levein, Jimmy Calderwood (not sure though), Colin Calderwood, Terry Butcher with Frail kept on in a coaching role and Steven Pressley to be added to backroom staff.

Who Cares? This is hardly the most pressing issue at Hearts at the present time. Why can these so called "jounalists" not do some jounalistic work and try getting some facts on:

1) New Manager
2) Stadium Plans
3) How many season tickets have been sold (10000 no way)
4) Who is taking training?
5) Any new signings etc etc.

*10* That would be something, not having a manager for a couple of years then 5 managers at the same time, maybe that's the answer :)

Not too bothered that Jose is away although he did show promise at first ended up being a bit of a lightweight bombscare. Sure another full back will be signed to replace him and Wallace can cement the position.
Since when was Mark Kerr a Hearts target? How would Banderson know this i wonder unless he is making it up of course, not that he'd do that.

CBJambo,

Pinilla gone - good
Goncalves gone - good
Screpis go - please!
Agiuar go - please!

Screpis is 29 and on a 3 year deal for a basic wage but is really no better than what we have at the club... it was obvious last year when they tried to terminate his contract that Hearts didn't want him... so much for Lopez's scouting ability!

Can't believe the agent is 'jetting' in for crisis talks with the club... a quick chat over the phone and Screpis will be in the Italian 2nd division on probably better money.

Agiuar should head off too... long time injury... big question mark over him... i'd cut our losses there too!

And that leave Kingston, Beslija and Makela... we'll get rid of all the high wage earners yet!

They are no good without a decnt coach anyway.

#4 Maybe if you watched Hearts you could pass a sensible comment. For the record Panilla played about three games in 2 years and was treated extraordinally fairly by Vlad. Concalves richly deserved his nickname Bombscare. Both were cleraly surplus to requiremnts.
As for the rest of the squad -Hearts have a good defense and midfield and are lacking in a few forwards.

Do yourself a favour Fernando and leave the club thats become the laughing stock of Scott..,Brit....,Europ...nae World football. Maybe he will get some of Romanovs swanky new clobber as a leaving gift. Still its good to know whilst the yams lurch from one crisis to another "Mr" Romanov is busy trying to sell dodgy clobber from the back of a transit in Milan using his neice to model it. Just when I thought Hearts couldn't become more of a joke this happens... Keep up the good work "Mr" Romanov wee Hibbies are proud of you.

Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov turns to Milan - but only for new fashion line.

This is the headline from todays Record, some great quotes.

He said: "I thought, why shouldn't my shirt be different with a nice 'R'?"

And

"Romanov launched a range of Revolution leisurewear for Hearts fans two years ago but has taken the label upmarket".

Ha ha, surely you can only go upmarket from dressing Hearts fans.

Full story here, maybe thats why you've no manager as Vlads too busy with the fashion world.

Hi.

I know this seems unlikely, but if Romanov andhis does leave Hearts, where does this leave the club in the long term?

I am very worried of a worst case scenario for them?

Leeds United is the scenario I really fear for them.

Mr Anderson Jambos need more from you and here is a steer
Post 11 says it all and most concerned Jambos would like to know about the following.
As a clue for you - you might not get the real inside stories by ringing the club and it may take some shoe leather and more than 10 minutes.
You might even need to forge a relationship with an insider or two in various places.
So here goes
What is the state of play with our Stadium plans.
(You can speak here with the council and with various contractors and if they say no comment print who said no comment and why they said it
What is the situation vis a vis our New Manager
You can speak here with the club, with well known club people like Leslie Deans, ex manageres and also people like Charlie Mann - if they say no comment print that to and tell us why
State of play
Really how many season tickets have been sold - you might need to know somebody in the club to get the real figure which will be less that the 9000 quoted to hype up the stalled sales Why are the fans being lied to about the current total sales?
4) Who is taking training?
And who is not there
Maybe a trip to Riccarton drive, take the bus or hire a balloon or use some initiative like bugging the dressing room
5) Any new signings - and don't just make them up like normal who is left who is our likely first team etc -= you'll get the drift
Then how about some overviews on the club from successful people in business - to see if anyone can throw light on our charlatan's business methods
Finally how about starting a "What's next" debate
i.e What if Hearts don't survive - is there a fall-back plan in place and are there any fans out there with a rescue plan
What are the rtescue scenarios and what might happen

You know Mr Anderson - you might even enjoy this type of approach.

#47 It's hardly Barry Anderson's fault that there is nothing new to report and in case no communication to the media (i.e. or to the fans) via Tyniegrad.

We SHOULD have a new manager, a new squad, news on the planning application for the "stand" (aka flats and hotel complex) that led to Anderton being sacked for not delivering planning permission in 6 months - nearly 2 years ago.

There is no news expect Hearts being unable to attract a coach or players and anyone worth any money being sold because that's what's going on. Accept it.

Try the Banja Luka stock exchange for a start, thats in Bosnia. Shares in the great Birac aluminium smelter last traded at 0.1 BAMs thats Bosnian Marks about 3 pence per share.
The Balkan Investment Bank now defunct, and so on,its all there if you've got the nerve to look.

Oh now I see... Thanks! Could you possibly find the time to look into the disapearance of Lord Lucan aswell?

Your investigative journalism is fantastic and for a second or two there I wasn't expecting you to pull it out of the hat but...

There it is ladies and gentlemen: Thursday 03 2008.

Santa from Lapland tells us all the facts of the matter in hand. Vlad will be...

"Too poor to waste money on a foreign football team."

Phew!... you go to the same school of conclusion jumping and time wasting as Barry Anderson by any chance?

Too poor?
Is that the company with 337,952,347 BAM in fixed assets at last count aye? (Thats just short of £135m in our money). The one that UKIO own 56% of aye?

Birac's price has dropped over the last while but then so have many other strong companies.
And let's face it, it's not Romanov's only interest is it now?

If you were right, the Scottish press would be all over it and wouldn't be able to contain their delight.

Thankfully you're looking at things you don't understand and trying to make sense of it.

If you're into that, how about trying your luck with heiroglyphics?

There's a lot going wrong at tyncastle but reporting like this does add weight to those who say a lot of it is drummed up by the media. How he is coming over to "save his career" - what a pile o' p!sh

#79 - nice one my man. Almost down to my level! I do love a bit of bad punnery from time to time, lightens the day a wee bit.

You manage to find your coat? I went to pick up mine to find out somebody had exchanged it for a fleece. Maye I was 'fleeced'. Vlad must have had something to do with it..................

My favourite is still "somebody once told me that I was prone to bouts of pentanticness. Didn't have the heart to tell him he meant pedantry......."

LOL!

True story: I once went bowling and handed in my two day old pair of £145 Rockport boots only to be presented at the end of the night with a pair of beat up and delapidated, smelly, buckled, old Fila trainers from what appeared to be 1993!

I was raging and eventually after much vein popping and tantrums the manager went out to the shops the following week and replaced my boots.

When they first handed me those trainers I actually laughed and thought this is a joke right? Then when I realised that some wee schemie was happily skipping around in a brand new pair of boots thanks to Megabowl I thought... oh well, can't really blame them I 'spose, not a bad swap.

I often wonder though how I would react had the shoe been on the other foot.

There are 220,000 Birac shares for sale today at 0.09BAMs 3pence each and no takers.Fixed assets are worthless if they don't work efficiently and nobody wants them.
The football press have not got the brains of a louse !
Name a Romanov business that is doing well.

Nice work boys!

Come on Santa, SHOEly you can tell us - what's the connection between shares and fixed assets?

I always thought shares were owners' capital and therefore liabilities on the balance sheet rather than assets, but maybe I'm wrong......

#90 We can go into the details all night but it's really just clouding the issue.
The picture is nowhere near as bleak as you're painting, especially as you're looking at the equivelant of the corner of a painting.

Does Romanov still have a massive personal fortune? Does this personal fortune still guarantee Hearts debts with UKIO? Does that mean that UKIO can afford Hearts debt and expenditure?

yes yes yes yes yes.

Good try tho. How's the heiroglyphs coming?
95

Glorious Hearts,

03/07/2008 15:49:54
#90 BTW your wee speach re fixed assets is nonsense. Take Hearts for example- Tynecastle is a fixed asset worth x pounds.
Whether Hearts share value goes up, down or spins around, the fixed assets remain the same (subject to valuing variables of course)- Tynecastle is still worth x pounds.
Assets are what they borrow against and they still own them.

Roscoe P Coltrane,

96 - GH - should we start on the difference between fixed and floating charges and debentures as well? That'd really confuse!
