HEARTS are expected to reject the Federation of Uganda Football Association's claims for compensation over the departure of Csaba Laszlo.
The former Uganda head coach joined Hearts as
manager last week but reports from the African country yesterday indicated that the Ugandan governing body is threatening to call in Fifa over compensation.
The Federation of Uganda Football Asso
ciations (Fufa) insists it is owed £100,000 from Hearts over the loss of their head coach. However, it is understood that there is dispute over the terms of the contract, and whether any compensation is due at all.
Fufa spokesman Rogers Mulindwa claimed Hearts officials involved in the signing of Laszlo have 'disappeared'.
"Now there is no proper communication. They (Hearts] are quiet," said Mulindwa. "We have made phone calls but seem not to talk to the right people."
He added: "We will next petition Fifa. He (Laszlo] will lose his job and remain between Hearts and the Cranes if he is not careful."
Details of Laszlo's contract with the Uganda national team have been published in the local media. It is claimed that a three-month notice period for both parties had to be given to avoid a breach of agreement.
Reports said that Fufa would have had to pay £173,000 to sack Laszlo, while Laszlo was due to pay £60,000 if he broke his contract.
Hearts last night declined to comment on Fufa's claim for compensation.
