MACEDONIAN international striker Ilco Naumoski claims Hearts have made him a formal contract offer as he prepares to leave the Austrian club SV Mattersburg as a free agent.
Naumoski scored the goal which consigned Scotland to a 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat in Skopje last September and believes his bustling style would be ideally suited to British football. He said today Celtic are courting his services following the
expiry of his Mattersburg contract, but insisted the only SPL side to make him an official offer is Hearts.

"I believe Hearts are one of the three that have brought an offer to the table but I don't want to go into detail at this stage," said the 25-year-old, who has scored six goals in 29 games for Macedonia.

"I know Csaba Laszlo was the manager of the year in Scotland last season and my adviser speaks very highly about him. I think Scottish football would suit me. I love the pace and the mentality shown in the game. I believe some players there will still remember me from when I scored in the qualifier against Scotland.

"But, of course, I know of teams such as Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Aberdeen. Scotland would strengthen my personality and I think there will be more competition than in Austria, more matches."

Reading have also been credited with an interest in Naumoski along with Red Bull Salzburg.

The player continued: "I will decide in the next days where I will go. There are good opportunities in Scotland and England. Of course, finance plays some part but I will decide together with my adviser."

Sounds like the sort of player we need at Tynecastle.

Good to see Mr Romanov's being good to his word in terms of finding new players for Hearts. Not something the Hobos on here would understand.

according to wiki he averaged one in four at his last club. 6ft 3 if wiki's info is correct(granted its usually not!) if reading and middlesbrough are interested he cant be too shabby. i also am shocked he hasnt heard of hibs, their derby record is world renound not to mention them reportedly the sixth least successful sporting team in the world!

18 I remember the top ten, from all world sports not just football, the hobos came in a respectable sixth place, very pleased they got some recognition at last haha Barely even known in Edinburgh mind you never mind abroad.

Rangers
Celtic
Hearts
Aberdeen
Falkirk
Motherwell

Half the league from last season and still the hobos couldn't make Europe again! At least they will have the chance of some silverware with the challenge cup and 1st division after next season

Also, love the irony of #17: "LEARN TO SPELL YOU HIBVERMIN LOWLIFE". Brilliant.

#18 getting the wiki out eh? sad wee jambo's clutchng at straws. may i suggest you change your bedsheets as no doubt you will be wetting yourselves at the thought of signing an 'Macedonian' Hitman hahaha oh ma sides!

While we are at least being linked with the likes of Stokes, granted we wont get him but still, Kurtis Byrne and other of our own product will be better than any of these foreign numptys hearts sign.

Keep believing. Elliot, Nade, Ilco Naumoski Woooooooah some strikeforce that eh? Europe will be scared

(the 2 games you will play in the competition that is)

#24 Yeah. Imagine. Using the internet to research information on a reported target. Then posting it on a story about that target. Some people eh? What we should do is make wild assumptions based on the fact that all foreigners are rubbish at football. That's the only sane thing to do. After all, if he was any good, you'd have heard of him. What with your encyclopediac knowledge of European football and all.

It's very unlikely that Hearts or anyone has offered this guy anything. This is just a wee bit of self promotion from a guy who's out of contract. He sounds pretty desperate from his "please someone take me" interview.

The papers of course will run with anything because there's nothing else to report.

PS: I'm not having a go at Hearts here, I'm sure they're out there doing good business as I type.

Firstly, lecturing someone on spelling is fairly ironic....
Secondly, the Caps Lock key can be found commonly on the left hand side of your keyboard.
Thirdly, why feel the need to refer to your city rivals in a bigoted context?

Idiot.

Pat McGinley - STALKhome - any bells ringing yet?

Pat McGinley is a Jambo on the wind up! The guy is border line comedy genious! He has thrown every one by acting a hobo and in doing so has ripped them senceless in a far more original and more effective way than we could by slating the Hobbits directley! Hat off to ya pat! What section do u sit in in tynie btw?

Sorry to say it but not quite right.
The list you were referring to was wrong as it was worded so that it was number of years since a specific trophy win. The teams "above" FFFHibs had not entered their respective domestic trophies year after year. It is like not winning the World Cup for 70 years but a certain team might only play in it every 4 years.
The world wide professional sporting team that has NOT won a specific trophy that it has entered in annually IS - yes you have guessed it - FFFHibs........
other teams have gone defunct or only qualified to play in certain tournaments every so often. FFFHibs - by playing in the Scottish cup year in year out hold the record for LOSSES in a single tournament.
They made it on to the main sports programme on ESPN just after Chicago won the baseball as the pi55takers were interupted by a caller who said that he had heard a team called "The Hibernians" in Scotland held the "real record". The researchers on the show looked into it and BINGO.By seven years actually, from some obscure European club that i cannot remember .
I was always baffled as to why more was not made of this. The Yanks referred to them as the worst sports team in the world.
