No 10 bash for Vlad as Hearts prove winner
HEARTS owner Vladimir Romanov attended a reception at 10 Downing Street last night as the club picked up an award for investing in the local community.
Hearts were one of 21 companies from across the UK to receive a CommunityMark award at the Business in the Community's Awards for Excellence gala dinner at the Royal Albert Hall.
Mr Romanov was among business leaders who met with John Denham, Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills, in Downing Street before the dinner.
Campbell Ogilvie, Hearts managing director, said: "Heart of Midlothian has played an active role in the Edinburgh and wider Scottish community for over 130 years and we are naturally delighted to be amongst the first recipients of such a prestigious award."
Design Links, a communications agency from Leith, and Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBoS) were among those also honoured.
