HEARTS new boy Suso Santana said today he won't take long to settle into the ferocious pace and tough tackling of the SPL.
The Spaniard signed a three-year deal yesterday to become Csaba Laszlo's second arrival for the 2009/10 campaign, following hot on the heels of Inverness midfielder Ian Black.

The 24-year-old Santana joined the Tynecastle club from Tenerife but sp
ent last season on loan to UD Fuerteventura where he scored nine goals.

The right-sided midfielder says he's already in good condition and can't wait to make an impression in Scotland. "I am in good shape at the moment. That is what pre-season is for, to train, play games and prepare well for the season ahead.

"I am very happy to be here, I like to take on players one against one and provide the final pass into the box. I am a quick player and an aggressive player.

"Everyone likes to score goals and I am like everyone. I scored nine goals last season at Fuerteventura.

"In the Spanish Second Division there is a similarity with the physicality and I will have to get used to that straight away in Scotland."

And the Spaniard is relishing the prospect of being involved in Hearts' Europa League campaign, which kicks off in August.

He added: "It is very exciting to be involved in this sort of competition.

"I want to work hard and try to put my grain of sand in the club and help them to do as well as possible."

Welcome in.

We demand max effort but reward each great move or goal with generous applause. I hope you can become a star with the JT's and keep us as the third power, and maybe the second power this season in the SPL.

Try your heart out ans we will make sure you get a great reception.

Next, centre halves.

Ah Berti, go and spend the Hobos money over there. You've got £3 million you know, and only wee Derek to score for you.

We are building a new side, you are selling your new side.

Cynicism, the last resort of the desperate (non) humourist.

Gutted that we've signed a Spaniard who's been playing in teh same league as the Barca and Real Madrid B teams when we could have gone for a winger like Alan O'Brien. Now that was a top signing !!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing this guy.. He could be a hit for us - just because he's coming from the third tier of spanish football means nothing.

Here's Morgaro Gomis of Dundee Utd's career:

2004–2005 Windsor & Eton
2005 Dagenham & Redbridge
2005 Windsor & Eton
2005 Barnet
2005–2006 Lewes
2006–2007 Cowdenbeath
2007– Dundee United
Arguably the best player in the SPL last season.

As always the Hobo economists will be getting moist.

They should be more concerned with what the tache will do with the money they get from Burnley.

He'll be sitting in his office now, stroking his tache, musing over the size of his current account.

Forever in the shadow of the Gorgie.

#7 I don't believe that is even the same league as Real and Barca B. I think it's a similar level but a diferent group, much like the conference north and conference south. Oh dear! Wont be half the player that Driver is, I fear Hibs could miss out on the revenue of a second derby at Easter Road due to the Hearts failing to make the top six

You would kill for a player that could put the ball in the back of the net like Deek does. Sure, he's a little misguided in his ways, but hopefully he'll grow up in that sense. On the field though, he is a goalscorer, something, I believe you have been begging for in your slums.
If you can think of as good a goalscorer at Hearts, please do tell me who he is

Yes, Hibs have made the mistake in the past when it comes to letting players walk away. Not this time though, we got good money for our man, remind me how much Bruno left for again?
35

A Jambo come rain or shine,

01/07/2009 13:24:30
#24 Yes - why wouldn't we? Everyone said Robbie was gash - he's away and Eggert is more than capable of playing RB. Kari will be a loss but i'm sure we've got cover and Bruno missed part of the season. Ian Black was ICT's player of the year and will work his socks off, we've got a great reserve team to come through and may add to the squad. No other team outside the OF were that good so why wouldn't we hope for top 6 if not 3rd again? Hibs are busy selling their best player while signing duds from Falkirk so no worries there.
36

JB1874,

37

A Jambo come rain or shine,

01/07/2009 13:26:48
#29 Yes we'd kill for a goalscorer but then again, we finished 3rd without one so i'm sure we can again next season if we have to. I wouldn't touch "Deeks" with a barge pole and if you think he's going to "grow up in that sense" then you are misguided. He's been a pro player for about 6 years now and he still can't keep out of trouble!
38

Chris Martin 1,

01/07/2009 13:27:26
Black could be a good signing, not really the same type of player as Bruno though. Do you not feel that you might lack that cutting edge in the final third?
39

Rolland,

01/07/2009 13:32:15
"9 - Deeks a little misguided now ? Try he's a wee plum that will never grow up.

To answer your question, with Casba in charge and driver staying (he equally might not be sold) we are very confident of making the top six again as per usual. What does concern us (and you won't know about this) is how the squad reacts after our Europa League matches on the Sunday and if we will drop points against the smaller teams, as I said not something your going to know about being a hobo.
40

The Gorgie Boys Are In Town,

01/07/2009 13:37:34
29 That's kind of what i meant, don't get me wrong if he wasn't a numbskull, hanging around with even bigger numbskulls and knuckled down he could be a cracking player. He is a grade A fan dan though and that will never change, therefore no other club would touch him, not even if he paid his own transfer fee, damaged goods

Rolland you are wasting ur energy the talking will be done on the park,Hearts will always have the better options and targets ambitions. The experts here have got it in there blood too write off Hearts its been going on since Elias Furst arrived in 1898 yet we still rise higher in the league and win more matches than the Methadome mob.Someone mentioned Ratboy goal scoring id bag the tube an throw it in the docks. A goal scorer of at least 20 league goals would go a long way in securing a 20 point gap on the Hobos who may manage 4th place sometime.

A Jambo

German player on trial
01.07.2009

German midfielder Tibor Heber today arrived at Riccarton to spend a couple of days training with Hearts.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been playing for Bundesliga 2 side Alemennia Aachen, ironically one of Hearts opponents during next week's tour of Germany.

63

Rolland,

01/07/2009 16:26:08
#61 - We will see many many players come in on trial guys, it's the way these things are done, some will move on quickly others might get a contract this just gives casba the chance to have a closer look and for them to see the potential at Tynie and the world class traning centre, its the players chance to earn that move.
64

jon doe,

01/07/2009 16:28:07
I have never heard of the names punted about but noticing the nationality of players mentioned seems that Csaba n Werner have a strangle hold on there positions at Hearts and are getting approvals from VR etc.

This can only be a good thing and any players offered Training / Trials will no doubt be of a high standard, Csaba N Werner have real ability in discovering players who go on the become Internationalists.
65

jon doe,

01/07/2009 16:34:50
Werner to me is the organiser behind Csaba and implements the new training scedules etc right through the club the guy unquestionably oozes class .

He doesnt get much coverage most folk dont when Csaba is around, he got a few pats on the back when me an other Jambos met him a few weeks back.

This is Csaba as he works if he has a good amount of money then he wont make it easy for club / agents to hike up any deals.

Some miners will take the coal while others will dig that bit deeper for precious metals, this is what is happening at Hearts we are mining for gems.
