JOHN HUGHES and Mixu Paatelainen are joint favourites to become the next manager of Hibernian, according to bookmakers Ladbrokes.
The former Easter Road heroes are both 7/2 with Ladbrokes to land the job, with Craig Brewster and current caretaker Tommy Craig 5/1 and 6/1 respectively.

Hibs, who are currently fifth in the SPL, lost John Collins before Christmas when he resigned the day after they opened their new training complex.

Spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "As the son of a Leith dock worker and as a man who scored a hat-trick against Hearts, Hughes and Paatelainen are bound to be popular choices.

"But there are a number of eligible candidates in the list and it wouldn't be a surprise to see a curve ball appointment."

I personally would love to see John Hughes with Franck Sauzee and Russel Latapy as assistants. That I think would be the best tactically and the fans would love to see 3 legends back where they belong!!!

Legends???? And what qualifies them as legends per chance? Certainly not any scottish cup victories, that's for sure!

John Hughes and Russell Latapy back at Easter Road!

After JC and TC, the players now have the fitness ethic - just add Yogi's drive and enthusiasm, and we might just have the combination to rescue our season.
