SEB Sanders, last year's joint-champion jockey, is eagerly anticipating his return to the saddle next spring as he continues to recover from a broken leg.
A pile-up during a race at Chester on 30 August ended Sanders' season, with his departure from Luca Cumani's Speed Gifted leaving him with a fractured femur.

Sanders escaped having the leg put in plaster and after getting back behind the wheel of
his car for the first time on Tuesday, is preparing for his long journey down the rehabilitation road.

"I had to realise that it was quite a bad break and had to think long-term," said Sanders, who had ridden 89 winners prior to his mishap.

"I saw the specialist yesterday and I am ahead of expectations.

I will hopefully be off my crutches in four weeks and will then start building the strength back up.

Realistically it will be March before I am back."

Ralph Beckett provided Sanders with a first Oaks win in June as Look Here demolished a field of high-class fillies, and the prospect of teaming back up with the daughter of Hernando is one of the rider's major motivations.

"I have only watched three or four races since I broke my leg and one of those was the St Leger. Hopefully Look Here will develop into a top-class filly next year."
