Give Roly Boy another chance

RELIGIOUSLY following horses that have been "unlucky in running" on their latest start is a dangerous route to go down and one that can lead all the way to the bankruptcy courts.
For all that, Roly Boy still deserves to be given at least one second chance at Newmarket this afternoon. The youngster got no sort of run behind stablemate Sohcahtoa last time out and despite the presence of Mick Channon's hat-trick-seeking Lahaleeb in the nursery at Headquarters, Richard Hannon's colt can land the spoils.

It would be fair to say that the naps haven't been performing quite as brilliantly as one would like, but yesterday's choice Dove Cottage didn't run as badly as it appears. He did finish 15th of 15 and okay, he was beaten by over 50 lengths by Double Spectre, who occupied 14th spot, but the poor beast lost his action and was virtually pulled up by jockey Fergus Sweeney. Otherwise, he would surely have finished closer to Double Spectre.

Today's best bet is Peter Island, who can prove himself the Brighton Rocket in the race of that name.
