CLINICAL Caley maintained their unbeaten away record as Ayr's defensive frailties were ruthlessly exposed at blustery Somerset.
This game was settled within the first 25 minutes, by which time the Highlanders had carved out a 4-1 lead.

The visitors went ahead when Danni Sanchez threaded a pass to Richie Foran who calmly beat Craig Samson.

United levelled immediately when Ryan Esson's attempted clearance landed at the feet of Mark Roberts who shot into the empty net from 20 yards.

However, parity was short-lived for the Honest Men.

Adam Rooney restored Caley's lead before Dougie Imrie doubled the advantage with a tap-in.

United's woes intensified when Foran notched his second with a close-range header.

Foran completed his hat-trick with a firm 57th minute header.

Ever since Ayr got promoted I've said a successful season for them will be staying up.
