JIM JEFFERIES will not build up the importance of Kilmarnock's relegation battle tonight against St Mirren with his players.
Newcastle manager Alan Shearer declared Monday's similar contest with Middlesbrough the biggest match of his United career ahead of his team's 3-1 victory, but Killie counterpart Jefferies prefers his team to focus on football rather than consequences of losing a five-way fight.

He said: "If they are not aware of the situation they are in – because it would hurt anybody if they go down – they shouldn't be in the game.

"They don't need the manager telling them what the repercussions are – I don't even mention that."
