CALUM ELLIOT prefers his actions to speak louder than words and skilfully deflected any mention of Hearts after scoring a double to make it five goals in three league games for new employers Livingston.
And the on-loan Hearts striker could be joined in the squad travelling to Dumfries on Saturday by club top-scorer Leigh Griffiths after coach Roberto Landi today confirmed his recovery from knee surgery is on schedule.

Landi said: "I hope Leigh ca
n be on the bench against Queen of the South. He is recovering well."

Elliot said today that life at Livingston was a fresh start for him, and he is certainly revelling in the buoyant atmosphere bubbling around Almondvale.

In scoring both goals he was clinical, and he could easily have had a hat-trick – the Lions' first goal coming from a fierce Elliot strike which ricocheted off the leg of Murray Davidson and looped over Jon Tuffey in the Partick goal.

Elliot said: "I am very happy. I am playing in a good side that is creating chances for me. When the team is doing well it breeds confidence for everyone.

"I am delighted to be here. It has given me a chance to show what I can do. It is a fresh start for me and hopefully I can continue to help them to do well and stay at the top of the league."

Elliot believes Livingston's ability to move the ball swiftly from front to back while retaining possession has been key to their success this term – they are now three points clear at the top of the First Division.

"The defence and midfield have been different class. They have been the rock of the side that has kept us going. They have created a few chances for me and I have been lucky enough to put them away."
