MARK PROCTOR has rubbished reports he is about to quit Livingston for a job with Championship leaders West Brom.
The Englishman is preparing for next season and he has scoffed at suggestions that he wants out of Almondvale.
He said: "I don't know where that West Brom story came from. People are speculating, perhaps because of the new ownership. I am manager
at Livingston and, until anyone tells me otherwise, I am getting on with it.
"I have been in football a very long time and it's been a long time since I was surprised by what other people wrote."
Chairman Pearse Flynn, who this week sold 50 per cent of his Lionheart Consortium to Irish property millionaire Anthony McMullen, has questioned Proctor's record, saying: "Results-wise there is a question mark over the manager, personality-wise, quality-wise, absolutely none."
But Proctor, who guided Middlesbrough to FA Youth Cup success in 2004, has spent his career taking the long view, so isn't about to push the panic button.
"A new guy has come in and obviously he will want to look at things, that's only natural. It's been a difficult year but I think we have entertained a lot of people, played some fantastic football, and brought on some terrific youngsters."
Livingston face Partick for the sixth time this season in their final home game of the campaign, and Proctor, for once, has a near fully-fit squad.
He added: "There is a bit of a virus running round and some have not trained as much as usual, but we are generally okay. We want to thank the fans who have been tremendous all season. It is our last home game and we want to try and get a victory for them. We are still not safe from relegation, although it would take something from Morton to overtake us."
Proctor also praised Graham Dorrans and 17-year-old striker Leigh Griffiths. Dorrans is on the shortlist for First Division player of the year and Griffiths has won the Irn-Bru SFL young player-of-the-month award for March.
"It's fully deserved and helps to not only raise their profile, but the profile of the club. It's good exposure for the club," said Proctor.
Meanwhile, Proctor has revealed that only four of his first team are contracted for next season – Dave MacKay, James McPake, Liam Fox and Joe Hamill.
