And what, currently, is the total cost associated with the Olympics? I'm sure the costs, as always, will have spiraled beyond our wildest dreams!

SouthernSkye - The costs which are 'managed' by the government will spiral out of control as usual. They never learn and put amateurs in charge rather than construction management sopecialists. Also they enter into open ended contracts (just like the Scottish Parliment building) and they are fleeced by the builders.

Expect the price to at least quadruple before then. Guess who is going to have to pay for this incompetence - 'Joe Public'.

I reckon the final cost of this fiasco will be around £27 billion; though they will probably try and bury the true cost like they did with Bliar's dome.

In any event, it will be another example of the taxpayers subsidising London.

Brown “What can we tax now to pay for the increase in the cost of the Olympics” Darling “I know lets put a tax on sex who is going to say they are not getting it”
Brown “Fine idea Darling that should cover the cost of the increase for a few weeks”.
