CESARE can land his first Group One victory in the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes (2.45pm) at Newbury tomorrow.
The straight mile of the big, galloping Berkshire track will suit the seven-year-old, who won the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot two years ago and has been plying his trade in Group and Listed race company since.

He did well at Ascot last term as w
ell, winning a Listed prize in the spring and taking the Group Two Summer Mile there in July and he was then runner-up in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood.

He was an honourable fourth behind Ramonti in the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot last autumn and showed that he still on the upgrade when making a successful reappearance in a Listed race at Ascot again three weeks ago.

Champion jockey Jamie Spencer has been on board for the last five victories and he teams up with Cesare again tomorrow.

Henry Cecil has his team in good form and challenges with Phoenix Tower, who is unbeaten in four races so far. The colt won his only start as a juvenile and scored at Windsor and on this track last spring before being sidelined with a pelvic injury.

But he bounced back to win the Group Three Earl of Sefton Stakes over nine furlongs at Newmarket recently and will be fitter now as that was his first outing for 11 months. He carries the colours of the sponsor, Prince Khaled Abdulla.

Creachodoir represents Godolphin and would have great claims on his best form. Trained in Ireland by Jim Bolger in this first two seasons, he was runner-up in both the French and Irish Guineas last spring and was beaten only a neck in the Hong Kong Mile in December after being bought to join the battalions in blue.

The colt was beaten just three lengths when eighth in the Group One Dubai Duty Free at Nad al Sheba in March, while Harasasun looks the best of the Aiden O'Brien runners.

This five-year-old makes his European debut, having won six of his 16 races in his native Australia for earnings of almost £1m.

Tariq's victories last summer included the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot but all his form is over seven furlongs and he may not stay this extra furlong in such exalted company, while Sir Michael Stoute runs Rob Roy.

The colt won a Group Two prize over a mile at Sandown two years ago and was runner-up in that same event on his reappearance this spring. In between he has been placed several times in major events both in Europe and America and his stable is in great form.

Medicine Path was sent off favourite for that Sandown race but could finish only seventh. He had won his three previous races though and looks best of the pair from the Peter Chapple-Hyam yard, but Cesare is taken to continue his progress and make his mark at the very top level
