Burnley 1A LATE equaliser saw Queen of the South manage a morale-boosting draw against Burnley, the English Championship side managed by Owen Coyle. Queens looked the more dangerous side for lengthy spells, but they fell behind against the run of play when new Burnley recruit Martin Paterson drilled home five minutes before the break. But The hosts got the leveller their play merited with seven minutes left courtesy of new striker Stewart Kean.

St Johnstone 2INVERNESS produced a superb attacking display to see off St Johnstone at Caledonian Stadium. Don Cowie, Ian Black, Andy Barrowman and Rory McAllister were all on target for Caley, who gave a first outing to goalkeeper Ryan Esson. However, the First Division side capitalised on a couple of defensive errors from the hosts to hit back through a Stevie Milne double. Inverness manager Craig Brewster said: "We produced some excellent football and some terrific goals."

Celtic XI 2LIVINGSTON were outclassed by a Celtic reserve team which started with Thomas Gravesen and Derek Riordan paired together in attack. However, the Dane suffered the ignominy of being substituted at half-time after an error-strewn display in the first 45 minutes. Celtic took the lead three minutes before the interval when Kevin Cawley latched on to Rocco Quinn's pass and beat Livingston's trialist goalkeeper. Danny Lafferty sealed the win for the visitors in the 63rd minute.
