MIXU PAATELAINEN looks set to shuffle his pack again tonight when Hibs take on Raith Rovers at Stark's Park.
The Easter Road manager made three changes to his starting line-up in Sweden at the weekend, bringing Andy McNeil, Alan O'Brien and Ross Chisholm into the fold in place of Yves Ma-Kalambay, Brian Kerr and John Rankin.
And tonight's friendly in Fife will allow Paatelainen the chance to give some of his fringe players a run-out, with those not involved in the InterToto double header, including Clayton Donaldson and Thierry Gathuessi, who were left at home as the rest of their team-mates flew out to Gothenburg, all in line to make appearances.
Rovers boss John McGlynn admits he expects his side to be chasing the game for much of the 90 minutes as they come up against an SPL side.
But he insisted that bringing his players up to match fitness was the main aim of the game and said: "SPL teams are used to playing at a higher tempo and we'll probably be doing a lot of chasing," he said.
"The players might not be able to match them for 90 minutes but if they can take that kind of tempo into a game against a Second Division side, the other team will find it hard to handle us.
"It's all about getting the players match-fit and these types of games will help us do that."
Meanwhile, Donaldson has admitted his disappointment at being told he is not going to be part of Paatelainen's plans for the coming season.
The striker signed for the Easter Road side from York City at the start of last season when John Collins was manager but has since failed to establish himself in the starting line-up.
However, the frontman insists that, while there is still a chance that he could remain in Edinburgh, he will continue to fight for his place in the side until a move comes to fruition.
He said: "I had an indication that they were going to listen to offers, basically because I haven't really been playing.
"With the manager changing, it hasn't helped at all.
"It's absolutely killed it for me, really.
"There has been interest from other teams, it's up to the club if they accept an offer.
"As far as I am concerned, I'm still a Hibs player and I'm still going to fight for my place as long as I am here."
