Paterson sacked
• PETERHEAD have axed manager Steve Paterson. The former Inverness and Aberdeen manager spent 15 months in charge of the Aberdeenshire side.

He leaves with Peterhead fifth in the Irn-Bru Second Division, and assistant manager Neale Cooper takes c
harge of team affairs until the end of the season.

McCabe at Pars

• FORMER Dumbarton manager Gerry McCabe was yesterday appointed as Jim McIntyre's assistant at Dunfermline Athletic.

McCabe, previously No 2 to Bobby Williamson at Kilmarnock, Hibs and Plymouth, has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal in line with the new manager at East End Park.

Gretna seal Hall

• GRETNA have signed utility defender Danny Hall from Shrewsbury. Hall, 24, began his career at Oldham and joined Shrewsbury at the start of last season.

He moves to a team sitting bottom of the SPL after failing to win a regular place in the Shrewsbury starting line-up this term.

Falkirk trialist

• FALKIRK have taken Filipe Da Costa on trial with a view to signing the winger on loan from Leeds United. The 23-year-old has trained with the Bairns at their Stirling University base this week and has shown up well before manager John Hughes, who could sign him on temporary terms until the end of the season.

Welsh banned

• COWDENBEATH manager Brian Welsh has been hit with a four-match touchline ban after clashing with officials following the recent meeting with Fife rivals Raith Rovers.

The Central Park manager was reported by referee Steven Nicholls after a run-in with a linesman in the wake of the 4-1 home defeat to his side's Kirkcaldy neighbours.

Griffin injured

• DANNY Griffin joined Ross County last night after being freed by Dundee this week – but he went straight on the injury-list following a knock in training.

The former Dundee United defender suffered a suspected ruptured Achilles shortly after penning a deal with the Second Division leaders.

"It is an incredible piece of bad luck for Danny," said County boss Derek Adams.

Gerry McCabe is good experience coach. He will help Jim McIntyre.

If Danny Hall folllow Aurelien Collin form. Gretna show more strong defence.

If Filipe Da Costa is fine player. but I hope Sign. Loan is not good
