WHILE the proposed Italian revolution in West Lothian shows early signs of flourishing, John McKendrick's refereeing display overshadowed Livi's triumph against nine-men County.

Roberto Landi may have just swept into power, but already his leaders
hip is providing positive change after a third win in four matches. However, the Lions' cause was aided by a bizarre display from the whistler.

During a largely tame contest, McKendrick incredibly dished out six yellow and two red cards to the visitors. Former Livi striker Steven Craig was handed a straight 40th-minute red for an apparent elbow on Chris Innes as the pair leapt for a high ball. McKendrick, it appeared, wanted a non-contact contest.

Worse followed for the Dingwall outfit after the break, Sean Higgins trooping off for a second caution.

The hosts, though, were on their way to victory even before Craig headed up the tunnel.

Seeking to preach Landi's philosophies, namely a passing style and a miserly defence, Livi set the tone early when Murray Davidson saw a header hit the post. But the breakthrough soon arrived. Davidson's surging run saw him play in Leigh Griffiths and the teenager got the break of the ball to rifle home left-footed.

Dyron Daal threatened a riposte, Pierre-Antoine Martini palming his fierce shot over, but Livi, aided by McKendrick, were always in control.

Shortly after Higgins' 61st-minute departure, the second goal arrived. Jean-Jose Cuenca's shot was spilled by Tony Bullock and Jason Talbot tapped in.

There's no way 9 men could play against 12. Potentially a good game, ruined by a clearly biased ref.
