ALLOA Athletic have rewarded midfielder Kyle MacAulay for his form as trialist by signing him for the rest of the season.
Manager Allan Maitland said: "Kyle has been playing as a trialist and was outstanding on Saturday." MacAulay, who spent a period on loan at Peterhead before being released by Aberdeen, is a student at Glasgow University and has been training with
Alloa. MacAulay and the returning Scott Agnew are included tonight for the visit to fourth- placed Peterhead as the chase to secure a play-off place becomes more intense.
Maitland added: "We have a very important five days coming up. We are away again to Brechin City on Saturday. But that win over Raith Rovers at the weekend has lifted everyone."
Peterhead have Callum MacDonald back after suspension, but manager Neal Cooper may stick by an unchanged squad: "The lads did well winning our last game and they know that they must keep that habit to hold onto a play-off place."
Leaders Ross County will give late tests to striker Dene Shields and Marc McCulloch as they visit Brechin City with the aim of opening a nine-point lead in the title chase.
Manager Derek Adams stressed: "We have opened a gap at the top, but we realise we cannot afford to relax. Brechin have shown by their recent form that they are a very dangerous side."
Brechin add Gary Fusco to their sqiad, and manager Michael O'Neill said: "We have won our past five games to get into a challenging position for the fourth place, but must continue that form. I am delighted that we have a full squad to choose from and that gives me selection options."
Cowdenbeath could give a starting role to new on-loan signing Denis McLaughlin, from Hearts, against Queen's Park. The Irish-born 21-year-old has had previous loan spells with Berwick Rangers and Raith Rovers and spent a time last season on loan to a Second Division Spanish side. But they will be without the suspended Bryan Gilfillan.
Queen's manager Gardner Speirs does not contemplate any changes.
"We continued our good form at Ross County on Saturday and have been unlucky not to earn more points in recent games.
"But we realise that this is a very important game for both clubs given our league position."
