EDINBURGH ACCIES coach Ian Barnes has been elected to the Scottish Rugby Council as the representative of clubs in the Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership Division 1.
The former Scotland second-row forward won by nine votes to three against George Clark (Boroughmuir), the existing council member who had sought re-election.

Barnes will take up his post with effect from Scottish rugby's AGM at the end of June.

Wow, I expect a few fireworks from Barney.

Can they televise the Council meetings?

Will be interesting to see how Barney does now he is in the tent he has spent much of his time p1ssing into.

Mind you, rather IB than some of the old GC members still floating about.
