WATSONIANS staged a stunning second-half rally to snuff out the challenge of Edinburgh Accies in the capital derby at Raeburn Place. Accies were 13-10 in front just after the interval – but Sonians grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck to pocket the bonus point.
Their touchdowns were snapped up by Tepu Saena, Dougie Brown, Andy Tweed, Ian Condell and Johnny Pelter.

Mike Ker was also in fine form with the boot, whacking over a penalty and five conversions.

The Accies tries were scored by Chris Kinloch and Alex Blair, while Stewart Walker contributed two penalties and two conversions.

Each side had a man sent to the sin-bin, Saena, and home hooker Mark Price.

This result, in combination with others, enabled Watsonians to bounce back into the title race. But for Accies it was a significant blow on home turf after such an encouraging start to their campaign.
