HERIOT'S are providing a platform for one of Scottish rugby's most exciting young talents to revitalise his career, continuing at home to Blaydon in a pre-season friendly tomorrow (3.00pm).
Winger David McCall dropped out of the rugby spotlight after making the last of three appearances for Edinburgh against Ospreys in March, 2007 – the same year he played four times for Scotland under-20s. Now McCall, who used blistering pace to grab a Magners League try at Newport Gwent Dragons, is back, with Heriot's coach Bob McKillop delighted to have acquired the services of the Stewart's-Melville reared ace who was part of the Edinburgh Academy.
"David had a year out with a shoulder injury but looked very good in our one match so far, against Stewart's-Melville," said McKillop who also revealed two recruits from relegated Dundee High. "Outside centre Graham Thomson has arrived in Edinburgh while prop Alan Dymock has also joined."
Tomorrow's friendly will be preceded by a 2nd XV match between the clubs at 1.30pm.
Also in the Capital tomorrow are Currie who step up their preparations with a visit from Musselburgh (3.00pm) while Lasswade host a 15-a-side tournament at Hawthornden.
