SCOTTISH SALTIRES are giving free admission to accompanied under-18s for Sunday's Friends Provident cricket clash with Durham Dynamos at citylets Grange as they seek to build on their impressive away win over Lancashire.
Roddy Smith, chief executive of Cricket Scotland, said: "Interest and participation in cricket in Scotland is growing particularly among young people.

"We feel it is important to support the drive to encourage more people to enjoy sport and hope that, by waiving our entry fee for this match, it will encourage lots more young boys and girls to come along, either with their friends or as a family."

Lancashire included five internationalists in a line-up beaten by Saltires off the final ball.

Smith added: "Monday's win against a very strong Lancashire side was a great achievement by the Saltires team, and we hope that their form continues into our remaining games."

Ryan Watson, the Saltires captain who is expected to return this weekend after an absence due to family commitments, added: "The team enjoys playing in front of a home crowd. If the sun shines, we know everyone will have a great day out."
