ST MIRREN have handed a trial to former Hibs striker Damon Gray. The 20-year-old has joined Gus MacPherson's squad for pre-season training after being released by the Easter Road outfit.
St Mirren manager MacPherson will run the rule over Gray, who has had two loan spells with Partick Thistle, before deciding whether to offer him a deal.

MacPherson said: "Damon has come in on trial and we'll have a look at him over the next week or so in training and then make a decision.

"He came through the ranks at Hibs and is a talented player who certainly knows where the goal is. He went on loan to Partick Thistle and did well.

"We've got games next week, so see how he does and then decide whether to take him into the games. We'll have a better idea how things are shaping up towards the end of the week."

Scotland Under-20 international Bryan Hodge was set to join up with St Mirren for pre-season training but has secured a two-year deal with Partick Thistle, with MacPherson admitting in the current financial climate the free Blackburn Rovers midfielder was right to take a deal from the Jags.
