RANGERS defender Andy Webster is set to return to first club Arbroath tonight in a bid kick-start his career.
The Scotland cap has been named in a reserve squad for a friendly at Gayfield. On a day when the Second Division club are expected to receive £15,000 from Hearts after negotiating a sell-on clause in the 25-year-old's contract when they sold him in 2001, Webster will attempt to boost his fitness levels in the match against his former employers.

Hearts did not sell Webster therefore shouldn't pay Arbroath a penny.
Webster, by paying a fine to Hearts that basically bought his remaining contract from Vlad, should be responsible for the money due to Arbroath - morally at least.
Next month it will be three years of utter hell for AW through legalities/chicanery , injuries and total loss of form preventing him playing.
He could have been a cup winner , still playing for an SPL club&Scotland and earning £ 12,000 a week, probably with his mental and physical health intact. By chucking the dummy out the pram on three occassions he has given up on this. Oh well - his choice - NO tears shed here that's for sure.
Where next Andy ?????????????????

It has proven to be an inspired move right enough. How many caps has he won since leaving hearts? In fact how many 1st team games has he played?

They say ‘you reap what you sow’ and he has ‘got his just desserts’ in this instance. Talking in football style clichés is surprisingly entertaining.

TT, on a scale in which Webster is an intellectual you are a Quantum Mechanic.

Hard working young man treated like a dog???? Hearts should have paid the money (even though it was Webster's mess and his debt) but hard working young man - smart guy??? Yes, inspired move for Andrew.

Webster - titter titter couldn't have happened to a nicer prat. Hope his knees go pop and will be a marked man by the lower league players as he is high profile because of his stupidity.

2# The money has been paid. Even though we did not have to give them anything as we did not sell on Judas.
