Beslija facing further month out of action

Published Date: 06 September 2008
RECORD Hearts signing Mirsad Beslija is facing the minimum of another month on the sidelines as he attempts to overcome knee ligament damage.
Specialists have informed the Bosnian that he does not require an operation after aborting a return to light training last month due to persistent pain. He sustained the original injury shortly after pre-season training began in July, however, the le
ngth of recovery time is frustrating club officials.

Beslija must now undergo an intense fitness programme having missed the whole of Hearts' pre-season preparations.

He arrived at Tynecastle in January 2006 for a club-record £800,000 from Racing Genk but continual injuries and illness have restricted him to just 13 appearances in maroon.

Manager Csaba Laszlo conceded today that it may be some time before Beslija is challenging for a first-team place.

"We cannot use his services at the moment. We don't see a big development," said Laszlo of the winger's recovery. "At the moment, I am thinking about the players which are not injured and the ones which can come back quickly. I am waiting for Bruno Aguiar and Mike Tullberg.

"If a player comes back who has not trained then we must push him to be available for 90 minutes, but this is not easy and takes time. The priority is to keep the team together and get our injured players back."

Zoran Krneta, a director of the Star Management Signings agency which represents Beslija, told the Evening News: "He is trying to get better, hopefully it will be about a month or maybe more. I think it will be a month minimum.

"He was supposed to go to London last week but didn't. I spoke to Hearts a few days ago and, obviously, they are not happy but it's not really anybody's fault. Mirsad certainly doesn't want to be injured.

"He doesn't have a brace any more and the specialist told him he doesn't need an operation. I spoke to Mirsad and he just wants to be back playing."

Tullberg has returned to Denmark for treatment on his muscle rupture and should be back in Edinburgh within a week. Laszlo continued: "He will be back in one week and he should be able to train with the team."

13 appearances since January 2006?
That's even less than Riordan's appearances for Celtic!

Hearts are in a false league position, played four, 3 wins against the teams they'll fight out relagation with,
rangers beat them with ease,
face it hearts "minnows"

This could well become the main excuse for rapidly falling down the league table.

Very true Ronalgenius.

So are Hibs in a false position too? After all they have played the might of Caley, Killie, Well & Falkirk.

3. quote - 'relagation' I was about to correct your spelling of this word then I realised that you are a Hibby, probably from Leith, most likely had a deprived childhood with little or no education, so that is probably the way that you would pronounce that word.

Beslija? 'Look at my face'...

Seriously does anyone give a flying duck where the skiving little cream puff is or what he is doing there?... I don't, I don't even consider him a Hearts player anymore, haven't for about a year and a half.

P15h1ng myself about the false position comment LOL!!

Hearts have played Motherwell and Rangers in amongst our first 4 league games and still managed to be joint second, 1 point of the top and 5 points clear of the Hoobs and in contrast hibs are languishing in eighth after playing Caley, Killie, Falkirk and the only top six side from last season Motherwell and they are struggling... What happens when they play another decent side?

Where will Hibs be after losing to Hearts, Celtic and rangers? For surely they are in a false position just now and by all rights in terms of performance should be in 12th place with 0 points.

I expect riordan will be able to score a goal or 15 to earn you lot a few draws but i see the goals continuing to fly in at the other end as Jones and Bamba combine/colide to give the rest of us a kings ransom in comic cuts... Then there's Makalaamby and McNeil!!

13

Plantagenet,

06/09/2008 12:50:51
13. Aw c'mon Jamboy, be fair, Hibs with Riordan scoring the odd goal, might over the course of the season get lucky, Bampot and Jones might just gel just once, keep a clean sheet and allow Hibs one home win over the rest of the season, but there again, for them that's a tall order, yeah, you might be right.

I despise Riordan but i will not make myself look like a thicko rangers fan like BTO, Huntit, Royalty and co by denying that he is a VERY gifted football player.

I stand by the assesment above that riordan will be almost having to start each game with a negative goal tally due to the poor defenders and keepers at hibs and with Zemmama's departure i wonder if Hibs have really improved that much with Riordan's arrival... Two steps forward and one back is progress but tempered to say the least.

So sick of all these non-hearts fans commenting on here and making me sort through the sh*te to get to the real posts. Dont you have anything better to do?

This is a real shame for Beslija. He did show some promise on his very few appearances, and it might not be his fault he's injured, but i think its time to cut him loose.

Would save us some money too cos im pretty sure he's on a decent wicket.
