Scotland manager George Burley will assess the fitness of Kevin Thomson and Kris Commons when the squad reports to the national team's training base tonight.
Thomson has been rated a major doubt after being carried off with an ankle injury following a 50-50 clash in Rangers' 1-0 defeat to St Mirren yesterday.

Commons is also a concern after missing the last couple of weeks for Derby County with a hamstring strain.

Burley's tenure has been hit hard by withdrawals so far and he will be keen to have as strong a squad as possible at his disposal for Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Norway.

"We will see tonight when all the squad reports," said assistant manager Terry Butcher.

"Kris Commons hasn't played for a couple of weeks and Kevin Thomson got a really sore one yesterday at St Mirren so we will see what the doctors and physios say tonight.

"We will look at all the other players as well and I'm sure there will be one or two little knocks and niggles.

"But, at this moment in time, there are only one or two who could be a doubt which is remarkable for Scotland because there are normally eight or nine at least."

3 Cal.

You have to stop repeating yourself. Yes the Saints won the 3 points, these things happen in football.

Look at last season with the tic being knocked out of both domestic cups by inferior squads, and losing away in the league to ICT who you play next.

As for us spending 17.5mil probably true, but also take in to account the transfer money that has come into Ibrox since January 08.

Hutton 9mil, Cousin 1.5 and Cuellar 8mil. I dont think Sir Davey has put a lot out of his own pocket this time.

Long way to go in the league and I still like the Gers chances.

Must admit I miss the European matches.

Hoping for a long productive run for the tic in the UEFA Cup, maybe all the way to the semis.

Brain it's not directed at you it's for Pun, I'm very well aware that I am repeating myself, but hey doesn't Pun? day in day out we get to read this insomniac Richard Heads drivel and as to quote the man or boy himself FACT, of that I know your are aware of.

Regarding getting beat by a so called inferior team it will happen to the best of us every now and again, it's not Artmedia that makes me cringe they are or were unknowns and it was WGS first foray into Europe it's the Clyde and ICT in the cups that make me cringe when we lose to them, this is the reason I post for Pun, he seems to think that by spending 17.5 Mil and posts this 24/7 that you guys should win the SPL, reasonable people like yourself know that's not the case, that is why the post starts of with HEY PUN and not HEY DMAN.

Also let the man stand up and defend himself. Don't be his Mammy, be his Daddy and tell him he's being an ar$e, maybe he will listen to one of his own.

4 In a row coming your way!
