HEARTS director Sergejus Fedotovas insists the club are not actively looking to cash in on winger Andy Driver amid further interest from Burnley in the England Under-21 cap.
Despite refusing to confirm or deny if the Tynecastle side had received an offer from the Clarets for the 21-year-old, Fedotovas, who admits bids have been tabled for players, is hoping Driver remains at the club as they prepare for Europa League foo
tball next term. Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov is thought to have put a 5million price tag on Driver's head following his involvement at the Under-21 European Championships in Sweden.

Coventry and Sheffield United have also been linked with the Oldham-born player but Fedotovas shares manager Csaba Laszlo's view that Driver should first serve his apprenticeship in Edinburgh before thinking about a move south.

Fedotovas said: "We are not in any rush to sell Andy Driver, absolutely. The manager and the club also believes he still needs to develop as well. We are discussing bids that have come in but at the moment our priority right now is to strengthen the squad."

Driver has been given special dispensation by Laszlo to miss the forthcoming tour of Germany following his involvement with England Under-21s.

Hearts return to training this morning and could welcome Spanish winger Jesus Manuel Santana Abreu after the player underwent a medical on Monday. The 24-year-old plied his trade with UD Fuerteventura last season in the third tier of Spanish football, scoring nine goals. However, striker Mike Tullberg, who spent an injury-plagued campaign on loan from Italian side Reggina last season, remains in the dark over his future despite Laszlo previously admitting he wanted to re-sign the Dane.

The deadline for Hearts having first refusal on signing the marksman passed yesterday.

Tullberg's agent Ivan Marko Benes said: "There is nothing new regarding Mike. I hope something can be sorted out, the manager had told me that he wanted to keep him."

The boy Abreu must be a bit of a mystery player for Hearts fans, and only 9 goals in the Spanish 3rd division doesn't seem that impressive.

However, you never know and he must have something if they're signing him. We'll all find out soon enough.

Is it just me or can anyone else smell Fedotovas's pants on fire?

As for Tullberg, why on earth would Hearts be in a hurry to snap him up? Face it no-one else is going to be making a bee line for his door so the ball is definitely in Hearts court.

The signing is a significant moment.
It has rocked the foundations of the football world.

The clubs policy is to sell sell sell so anything contradicting that is a lie.

Could this also be Suso scoring a penalty ...... and missing one at the death to level the score?

Just a thought!

so the guy sits on the bench for 5 games and all of a sudden is worth 5m? Remind me how much Berra went for and he was a full internationalist.

Jambo-ree,

#5 TT - Where exactly do you see the contradiction? We all know there is little doubt that Driver will be sold at some stage but like the man said "We are not in any rush to sell Andy Driver, absolutely."

Surely you should be glad that a club is putting the good of player before their own short-term interests? "Fedotovas shares manager Csaba Laszlo's view that Driver should first serve his apprenticeship in Edinburgh before thinking about a move south."

No lies there and anyone who says there is one is lying themselves.

Jambo-ree,

#8 He is worth what anyone is willing to pay for him. The starting price just got racheted up due his involvement in the England U21 set up and BTW he did play. HMFC just making sure that there are no time wasters coming in with cheeky bids.

No disrespect to anyone picked for Scotland but breaking through into any England squad is consdierably more of an achievement as they simpy have so many more players to choose from so yes, as much as pains me to say it, an England U21 cap is probably worth at least as much as a Scotland full cap.

I believe the ones who put a €5m price on Andy Driver were the Scotsman, certainly didn't read it anywhere else.

Now the Scotsman has quotes from Hearts saying they are not seling him, so does this mean that the previous Scotsman report was at best a bit of mischief making, and at worse outright lies?

Patrick at 11

A comprehension problem on your part .

I said that swine flu would impact on the economic activity of every business.
(I did give a link to countries stopping public gatherings to contain the virus.)
I simply fed back what is taking place in the world and applied it to Hearts situation.

I inadvertantly offered an informed opinion which is more than say Dr.Jambo can give.

Now talking about Dr.Jambo at 9:

"The plan remains to produce revenues from transfers. In the next transfer window there will be both players coming and going. With the youth programme we implement we will receive significant transfer revenues. We're looking at how to sell players more expensively and also at improving revenues from our ordinary business." (Words from the mouth of the mysteron known as Federtovas.)

and

"A vital part of the club's strategy is to continue to develop home-grown players as they have done successfully over the last few years. Players will then be sold on to other clubs on a managed basis, for the benefit of Hearts." (AGM)
("Hearts" should read "Romanov" and everyone will acknowledge that fact)

Andy Driver does play for Hearts Dr.Jambo and i conclude that he is for sale.If he wasnt for sale he wouldnt be getting hawked around half a dozen clubs with a for sale notice around his neck.

But if you choose to believe fairy tales there isnt a lot I can do for you.

pretty rich stuff to be giving hearts a hard time considering you just sold your best player

If we get offered 5 million he will go although am not sure its the best thing for him at the moment. Stay another season or 2 and learn to cross a ball and go to the premeirship as opposed to the championship.

Breaking news on the transfer front.

Hearts will not be bidding for Tevez.

Lithuanian pow wow reveals all.

Hearts deny an interest in Spanish 5 year old goat herder.

Hearts do not deny that Driver is for sale.

Meanwhile on his Black sea resort Romanov contemplates his next raid.

#14 TT - Key phrase from your quotes "Players will then be sold on to other clubs on a managed basis."

Now that sits very nicely alongside "We are not in any rush to sell Andy Driver, absolutely."

A managed basis in operation.

So your point was? And believe us, there is NOTHING you can do for us expect naff off these threads with your boring repetitive drivel.

Now now Pat.

Take a deep breath .Your mum will be here in a minute.

But let me help you out.

Sweetie? I only have a sour plumb.

O.K.if sour plumbs are your favourite then there you are.

Do you know what Pat.

"Hate" is a word that is readily construed as meaning "love".Synonymous terms Pat.

Remember in room 101 Winston "hated" but in the end he realised that he really "loved"

When you reach the very bottom -the place you dont want to go- then you will come to "Love" me.

You will be grateful to me and you may very well despise people like Dr.Jambo for filling your head with tripe.

I'm not at work either, so the nefarious evil Mr Romanov is not to blame for fraudulent activity this time.
25

tommytommy,

01/07/2009 09:27:48
Dr Jambo.

"Sell" is the operative word.

Not just "sell" but sell for the enrichment of Romanov and his cohorts.

You appear to support that policy.

I calculate that if Hearts had given Romanov the body swerve-as did several reputable clubs-they would not have any debt at all nor would they have pawned the club.

They would be a viable entity with a good team and a rosy future.

You evidently prefer insecurity and uncertainty .

They wouldnt have the tax man trawling through their books.

They wouldnt be advertising their players as
"FOR SALE".

You seem to support that line Dr.Jambo.

I know where you are coming from.

Thats 30 minutes gone and not a transfer target has been identified.

No more Spanish stars.
No more Hartley speculation.
Just how to raise revenue for Romanovs life of luxury.

Thats Hearts fans objective in life.

I will give you time to consider your transfer targets as I am maybe not giving you enough time to list them.

Ill look back later to see how it is developing and we can continue our discussion.

#25 You're surpassing yourself today! "They wouldnt have the tax man trawling through their books."

Like anyone has the option given that HMRC have greater powers than the police?

One thing for certain is that had Romanov not come along we wouldn't still be playing at Tyncastle.

The rest is the output of your fervid imagination and wishful thinking.

I wonder why these thick hobbos keep comparing Berra to Driver. 2.3 million for a 23 year old Scottish centre half is good business in my book. Driver is 21 and an under 21 England internationist who has the world at his feet. In another seasons time his value could rocket further as he will no doubt have another great campaign on the wing helping Hearts do something domesticaly and in Europe.

Pat.Your toy fell on the ground.

Here give this jagged bit of glass a wee squeeze and Ill go into this sauna and tell your mum your tied up outside waiting for her.
She should be out in about 4 hours.

Meanwhile I see that Hearts are NOT in for Gary Harkins.

An excellent player who is going to a team who are spending a bit of money-as opposed to a team whose owner does not have a bean and who has no intention of spending the money he syphons from Hearts on anything other than himself.

Another good player gets missed.

This statment does beg the question, is that sports group still in action with their website trying to whoore the whole hertz sqaud around the world? Seems a bit contradictory saying this if that was the case.

If a concrete bid around the £3m mark comes in for Driver, your kidding yourself on if you dont think he'll be offski.

When times are rough out comes the bitterness.

I dont want to make it any harder for you -because i appreciate that you will be shaking with anticipation at seeing the new Spanish (summit) signing-but think like this.

Where has all the money gone?

Add up income, deduct expenditure, and pose this question again and again and again.

You lot must be bored. If Hearts get a decent offer for Driver then of course he will be sold.
