HIBS boss Mixu Paatelainen will today resume his search for a goalkeeper after deciding not to offer Khalid Sinouh a deal.
Paatelainen is keen to strengthen the goalkeeping position, where Yves Ma-Kalambay and Andy McNeil currently battle it out for the gloves, and has had a number of trialists at the club over the past few months.
Amsterdam-born stopper Sinouh had spent the last two weeks on trial at Hibs and played the full 90 minutes of a closed-doors game last week.
However, Paatelainen spoke with the Moroccan internationalist today to tell him that he would not be pursuing his interest.
The Hibs manager said: "We decided not to offer Khalid a contract. We thanked him for coming over and spending nearly two weeks with us but we just felt that he wasn't the one that we wanted. I am sure that he will find a club and is more than capable of playing at a good level.
"The goalkeepers who are already at our club are very good and I will not make hasty decisions. If the right keeper comes along then that is great but if not, I know that we have two boys here who are more than capable and have done well for us.
"There is no point in bringing someone in just to add to the squad for the sake of it."
Paatelainen will wait this week to assess Chris Hogg after the defender returned to training following problems with headaches and his vision, although Alan O'Brien and Kevin McCann have already been ruled out of Sunday's Edinburgh derby.
