THE Rangers trio of Barry Ferguson, Lee McCulloch and Christian Dailly have withdrawn from the Scotland squad for Wednesday's friendly against Croatia.
Ferguson saw a specialist in England last week with an ankle problem which has been troubling him for several weeks.

An injection saw him through the win over Hibernian on Saturday but he will play no part in the game at Hampden.

McCulloch also misses out after a thigh injury flared up following the weekend action, while an X-ray has revealed Dailly is suffering from a broken toe.

All three will now receive treatment at Murray Park and are expected to be fit in time for this weekend's Old Firm derby, according to the club's official website.

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor and striker Kris Boyd remain in the national team squad as George Burley prepares to make his debut as Scotland manager.

This is the sort of announcement that would suit Bainochio down to a tee...Ferguson, Mculloch and Dailly are all injured for Wednesday , but will be fine for Saturday.

So there you go...stop sniggering at the back!

Scott McDonald has pulled out of a World Cup qualifier. Does Liewell have any views on whether he'll be fit for Saturday? :0)

BARRY FERGUSON : Scotland's Shame. 24/03/2008 13:48:53
Shock horror, Captain Backpass(age) Bazman putting club before country again. He disgusts me, he is an affront to Scotland. He doesn't even know the words to the Scottish national anthem. Brooooonaldo, Fletcher, Hartley and Scott "the enforcer" Severin, should start.
As for the remaining louts they're equally as pish as captain backpass(age).

shame on you Barry, shame on you

Stand free

McGregor has also pulled out.....maybe he should have done this a few months ago, before the tabloids told all !!!

We should now adopt the 5 day rule, if you can't play on Wednesday your not allowed to play for your club for 5 days. That would be funny with the OF game coming up !!!

This "paper" though #5 seem to be run by anti rangers fans you see. this is why, they seem to not bother about saying about their squad yet bother to mention 3 (when actually its 4) players drop out.

This friendly should have been posponed anyway to take care of a few games that have still to be re aranged

It would be deeply damaging to the integrity of the SPL if they were to play. Imagine if one or more got injured. It would lead to a reduced standard of play in the SPL.

Alternatively .... neither the SFA or the SPL seems willing to do anything to help the fixtures congestion so stuff'em! Why should Rangers players be made available for a friendly when they could end up playing 4 games in one week?
