Scotland manager George Burley has suffered a further call-off ahead of tonight's friendly against Argentina at Hampden.
Celtic midfielder Barry Robson has been forced to withdraw from the squad meaning he will miss the opportunity to take part in Diego Maradona's first game in charge of the South Americans.

Robson is understood to have to felt a tightness in his groin following training and, with the game being a friendly, Burley did not want to take any risks with the player.

His absence brings the total number of call-offs to seven, a problem which was also evident in Burley's previous six games as Scotland boss.
Goalkeeper Craig Gordon, Kenny Miller, Darren Fletcher, Steven Fletcher, James Morrison and Ross McCormack have also been forced to withdraw from tonight's glamour friendly.

Aberdeen forward Lee Miller and Dundee United midfielder Scott Robertson received late call-ups earlier this week.

#3 - No chance of a Scottish ref - the protocol is that a neutral ref is used, even in friendlies. No reason why someone from England shouldn't be chosen...

BTW

There isn't a thread open yet on the artur boruc story, but it's more worthy of comment than Robbo's injury.

As a Celtic fan, I am getting to the end of my teather with the holy goalie to be quite honest. It was reported before undergoing this surgery that there was a chance that he might make tha Aalborg match ...presumably that was conditional on certain dietry and lifestyle choices being taken.

Passing out p€ssed in a cinema ( very tasty bird BTW, but that doesn't get him off the hook) less than a week before the Aalborg match isn't the mark of a player who's doing his best for Celtic.

When Strachan allowed him home leave to recuperate, I'm sure many of us feared that Artur would see that as an ideal opportunity to go on a bender, and it looks like that's exactly what's happened.

Artur needs an almighty boot up the €rse, and I think Brown deserves a run in the first team. He doesn't inspire me with confidence, but he's conceeded only one goal in his last three appearances, and it was an absolute belter from the big hamilton striker.

So, whilst he still looks a nightmare when dealing with crosses, at least his head is screwed on the right way and his recent match stats are impressive enough.

A heavy fine for Artur - 4 weeks wages - and a spell in the reserves until/if Brown has a string of bad pêrformances.

If Brown comes onto a game and starts to prove himself worthy, taxi for Artur me thinks.
He seems on a downward spiral at the moment and there are probably grounds enough already to terminate his contract.

He has been a great servant of the club, but he must surely be on his last warning. We can't be paying £25k a week to a p€ss head.

6 - there's not a threat open on the Boruc because pillocks such as yourself are incapable of commenting 'on topic' and have to fill your sad little lives polluting any sports story with a reference to Scotland's Shame.

Now, put the glue down, and run back to class before teacher sees you're gone.

You're absolutely right your Majesty.

When oh when will Celtic get a goalie with some sense of decorum, like a Goram or a McGregor.

Miller is also both a rearranger and a celtic and derby reject.

Since leaving rearrangerz, robson's career has been constantly spiralling upwards, being appointed Dundee U captain before eventually joining three in a row hello champions celtic.

His penalty goal against the rearrangerz in the 3v2 match will live long in the memory for both champions celtic fans and runners-up rearrangerz fans...for the former, a most joyous memory, the latter, a dagger in the heart.

Arur's bevvying would go unnoticed over at the dark star where numerous players over the years, and indeed sacked manager paul le guen, have expressed in public their concern about the drinking culture which characterises life at the rearrangerz.

At champions celtic, a more rigourous approach to fitness is adopted making Artur stick out like a sore thumb.

Robbo is a League Winner. He was instrumental in the run in. He had the bottle to sink you in the 3-2 game. Speaking of Dundee Utd level, without The Reverend you couldn't beat them.

Well done Robbo, you've got your priorities right. Pull out of a friendly with Bigotland so that you are fit to play for the famous Glasgow Celtic at the weekend.

The filth from Govan have been doing it for years, and Bigotland tolerates it, so good decision big man!
