Published Date: 05 July 2008
UGANDAN Football Federation officials have pledged to resist any approach from Hearts for head coach Laszlo Csaba and will demand £120,000 compensation from Vladimir Romanov if he wants the Hungarian.

Csaba yesterday claimed to have held discussions with Romanov regarding the managerial vacancy at Tynecastle but the majority shareholder will conduct at least one more interview next week before deciding on an appointment.

Richard Barigye, v
ice president of the Ugandan Federation, stressed that there has been no official contact from Hearts over Csaba. Barigye and his fellow board members are reluctant to lose their national coach and will press for compensation should he intimate a desire to leave. His £48,000-a-year contract runs until the end of 2010.

"We still want him here, we want him in charge for the African Cup of Nations and for the World Cup qualifiers," said Barigye. "If we have interest and if he wants to leave then we have sit down with him, but we are still very interested in his services.

"Csaba has a contract and if he tells us he wants to leave then we will want the value of the contract. We pay him about $8000 a month (£4000) and then there is free housing and other things like medical and school fees to be taken into consideration."

Csaba is the latest in a series of coaches to hold discussions with Romanov after Mark McGhee, Vladimir Weiss and Jurgen Rober all failed to reach agreement with the Russian businessman.

Hearts yesterday announced a two-year contract extension for Portuguese defender Jose Goncalves, who is beginning a season-long loan with Nuremberg. Hearts opted to extend the player's agreement before agreeing the loan deal, which guarantees the German second division club first option to sign Goncalves in a year's time for a pre-arranged fee.

"Nuremberg, for me, is a new motivation and a new goal," said Goncalves, who speaks fluent German as well as five other languages. "It is a big club in Germany and I know that I must play well here. Competition (for places] is always good."

Meanwhile, former Manchester United midfielder Richie Jones has opted against a move to Tynecastle and has instead joined Hartlepool. The Evening News revealed earlier this week that Jones underwent a medical at Riccarton but last night he completed a deal to sign for the English League One side.

There must be some young British managers who are worth a crack.

Romanov,

Get it sorted so we can slag each other off about football on the park rather than these endless managerial links to nobodies !!!

Jones joins Hartlepool in preferance to Hearts.

A manager for Hearts that currently earns a middle management salary of £48k.

Neither a great cause for optimism.

Deek should stay where he is and take Celtic's money, and annoy the hell out of Strachan. He owes the weegies nothing, after all they tapped him when he was at Hibs.
Burnley should be a non starter, he should wait until January and sign a pre contract with a team of his choice.
I don't think Jambos are in a position to slag-off Hibbies, you,ve got a full back with a criminal record for firearm offences!!!

And so, Manchester Uniteds player Jones sign for Hartlepools.

Is Hartlepools a big club that compete in League of Champions? It will be big ironic if Hartlepools meet with Hearts in group stage of Europe!

If the lad goes onto play premierhsip football fair play but there are already internationalists in our midfield that he would struggle to dislodge.

I suppose the signing of van zanten is a sign that hibs are now on another level?

Victor.

We touched on this yesterday. Same story - ill informed numpties posting bile and mince on threads. I reacted yesterday and today (following a honking round in the monthly medal), I'm reacting again.

I'd not be that bothered except Biley is starting to look HIGHLY intelligent against some of these idiots. Eh Muchachos?

PS - Hamish - don't get that excited - I'm not that way inclined.

Oh dear, i believe you were gubbed at home by a very, very average team.... oh yes hibs are sorted for this season.

Perhaps you should spend a bit more time worrying about your own problems (of which i would say you have many....)

I hear that the Hearts squad are loving there training , im looking forward to supporting the club as usual.
The age of the side is very young im sure a decent young coach would get the best out of them an any new additions.

Anyone got any favourites ?

Personaly id bring back Robbo and hand Mo Johnston the chance to make a name for himself ....

I know it probably wont happen but i am a Jambo and a dreamer ...

Mon The Hearts
