ST MIRREN midfielder Andy Dorman hopes to make an even bigger impact in the SPL after coming through the rigours of pre-season training.
Dorman was a major success for Gus MacPherson's side after signing from Major League Soccer side New England Revolution in January.
After overcoming the culture shock of St Mirren's pre-season training, he is confident he can build on the fine st
art to his career in Scotland.
"Pre-season been an interesting experience as this was the first one I have done over here," he said.
"It was a lot more intense than the ones I did in America, which would be done over a longer period of time. But I feel good and feel sharp and I'm looking forward to the season.
"In America it is more gradual with the fitness and all of a sudden you're match-fit, but here we were straight into the running.
"On our first day here we did three 12-minute runs but then we had three weeks without a day off. It was hard on my legs but I feel good after doing it.
"Hopefully I can continue my form from last year and I always want to try to get better."
St Mirren supporters were concerned bigger clubs would try to sign Dorman but he never contemplated leaving Love Street. He said: "St Mirren fans have been brilliant since I've been here, as have all the lads and the management. I'm happy here."
Dorman was speaking at the launch of St Mirren's "Wall of Fame" where supporters can buy a brick, which will be engraved with their name, for the new stadium which opens in January.
