ST MIRREN manager Gus MacPherson has questioned the SPL's handling of Rangers' congested end to the season.
MacPherson's side will now play the quadruple-chasing men from Ibrox on Monday, May 19 – a game which will be live on Setanta – having originally been re-arranged for the following night.

MacPherson gave the impression of a man who feels his team
are being pushed around to fit in with the demands of the considerably bigger club just a few miles down the M8 – as well as for television.

The Ibrox club's involvement in the UEFA Cup, replays in the Scottish Cup and participation in the League Cup final have combined to leave them the busiest climax to a season for years.

MacPherson said: "We are St Mirren – we are in no position to dictate to the SPL. We've seen that for a little while now.

"It is strange though. It was going to be the Tuesday and now it's moved to the Monday and will be shown on television.

"The SPL told us to play on the Tuesday so we try to move things and rearrange things to accommodate that and then suddenly you're told you've got to play on the Monday. It's the latest in a catalogue of things which have happened with the SPL."

MacPherson's team snatched a last-gasp victory in the Clydesdale Bank SPL on Saturday when Will Haining headed home Andy Dorman's terrific free-kick with eight seconds of normal time remaining.

It was Haining's first strike in over 18 months and he said: "My goal has been a long time coming so I'm delighted with it."

St Midden will be quick enough to grab the Setanta money.

He should try being phukked about all season by TV which is what the OF have to put up with.
