EDINBURGH Rugby today further demonstrated they are coming up to scratch by linking with one of the country's renowned golf sponsors.
Aberdeen Asset Management, whose sponsorship portfolio includes former Open champion Paul Lawrie and eight times European order-of-merit winner Colin Montgomerie, have become the latest Edinburgh jersey sponsors. Earlier this week, Edinburgh signed a
deal with engineering services firm Sitec.
Aberdeen AM chief executive Martin Gilbert was pleased to announce the new deal.
He said: "As well as being our home country, Scotland remains an important market for us, both in terms of the functions and people operating from our local offices, and our client base.
"It is for these reasons that we recently opened a new office in the heart of the Capital. The opportunity for us to associate ourselves with Edinburgh Rugby is a natural extension."
Edinburgh chief executive Nic Cartwright believes that the new shirt sponsor will play a pivotal role in continuing the team's development – both on and off the pitch.
"With the team performing excellently last season and the crowds continuing to grow, it is an exciting time to be involved with Edinburgh and we are all genuinely enthusiastic about our future," he said.
"We currently have a fantastic head coach, along with the country's record points scorer, Chris Paterson and, in total, 17 internationals in our 41-man squad plus now we have got a good shirt sponsors."
