BRITISH tennis starlet Laura Robson has vowed to retain her aggression as she prepares for the biggest match of her career.
Robson, the nation’s last surviving individual at Wimbledon, was due to face Thai third seed Noppawan Lertcheewakarn in the girl’s final on Court One today.

The 14-year-old has shown a maturity that belies her tender years and the youngest pl
ayer at SW19 is ready to continue showing the power and authority that has underpinned her progress.

“I’ll just play my own game and then, if the first set or something doesn’t go well, I’ll have to change it,” she said.

“In the semi-final I was going for winners. I like to go for everything and it works for me.”

Robson is bidding to become the nation’s first winner of the Wimbledon girl’s title since Annabel Croft in 1984.

The Australia-born Londoner has been showered with praise in response to her success at the All England Club but she is taking the recognition in her stride.

She said: “I try not to think about what people are saying but it’s nice in a way because it means everyone’s thinking you are really good so I’m taking it as a compliment.

“This time next year I’d like to be playing seniors and, if I win, I’ll be considered for a wild card for next year’s Wimbledon. That would be really good.”
