ANDY MURRAY will play world No.2 Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals of the Rogers Cup in Toronto tonight after the Spaniard defeated Richard Gasquet 6-7 (12/14), 6-2, 6-1.
Gasquet edged a first set that lasted 75 minutes before Nadal soon returned to form as he eased to victory with a dominant performance in the next two sets.

The win extends Nadal's winning streak to 27 matches

Murray had earlier secured one of the most impressive victories of his career when he ended his Novak Djokovic hoodoo in emphatic fashion with a 6-3, 7-6 (7/3) victory to progress to the last four.

It means the British No.1 will play Nadal for the second time in less than a month after Murray was completely dominated by his opponent at Wimbledon, crashing out at the quarter-final stage after losing in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 6-4.

Once again the Scotsman's indifference to the exploits of Scotland's No1 sportsman is in evidence!

Andy Murray continues his rise and the Scotsman hides the story away..........shocking!

I watched Andy Murray's semi-final with Nadal - Murray played a very good match - the match was marred to a degree by Nadal's time wasting between serves especially at important points such as Nadal's first game in the second set - It is shades of the Wimbledon final again and it is a pity that players against Nadal are not given a level playing field when he gets away with passing the time limit with inconsistent enforcement of the time violation rule. Well done, Murray - keep the pressure on Nadal and you will beat him one day
