Basketball: Yanders set to rock on for three more years

THE Scottish Rocks handed captain Rob Yanders one of the longest contracts in BBL history yesterday when the American signed a new three-year deal with the Kelvin Hall outfit.
Talks with the point guard had dragged on for three months, raising fears that the All Star, who is due to receive his UK passport, would be tempted overseas.

Yanders, 29, will also now become eligible to play for Scotland through residency, a possibility which has already attracted interest from national team boss Iain Maclean.
