Teenager caught in his own web
ABERDEEN youngster Chris Maguire discovered the perils of social networking websites when his alleged disparaging remarks about Rangers on a Bebo page found their way into a wider public domain.

Now a Crystal Palace teenager has learned a harsh le
sson, particularly with his unimpressed manager Neil Warnock, after revealing a possible transfer to Fulham on Facebook.

Ashley Paul Robinson, an 18-year-old who broke into the first team at the Championship club last season, gave the traditional transfer story scoop a thoroughly modern dimension when he announced on Saturday that he would be having a trial with Fulham on Monday. Sadly, he also gave the English language a dreadful kicking...

"Ashley-Paul is goin fulham on monday," the midfielder was quoted as saying. "If i pull dis off im on dis ting."

Palace, understandably, were not amused. After he calmed down, Warnock, who gave Robinson his league debut in March, politely told a newspaper yesterday: "We feel it's probably better that he looks elsewhere to further his career."

Ramsay on menu at Murray Park

GORDON Ramsay returned to his Rangers roots on Monday when he visited Murray Park to join in a training session with the club that signed him as a youth player.

The celebrity chef was filming an episode for his F-word series, with some of the players given their chance to show off their culinary skills . . . or lack of them.

Judging by the two-page picture spread in a red top yesterday, you can expect to see plenty of that well-known shrinking violet Ally McCoist when the programme hits our screens later this month.

F1 in moonlight spying mission

FORMULA 1 teams are jostling for position to send experts to Singapore for reconnaissance missions ahead of the sport's first night race.

Honda team manager Ross Brawn explained: "I think all the teams are sending someone over there in the next week or two, to have a look at a proportion of the track that's been lit for us to make a judgment and understand."

Singapore will host a GP for the first time on 28 September. The street circuit will be lit up by 1,500 projectors – four times brighter than a typical stadium.

TALES FROM THE TABS: WELL LISTEN TO RADIO

MOTHERWELL are looking into a potential offer from Real Radio to name Fir Park after the radio station, the Daily Record revealed on its back page yesterday.

The Motherwell board were reported to have turned down the offer, believed to be around £300,000, but Motherwell chief executive Ian Stillie says discussions are continuing.

The Sun reported that Romanian defender Gabriel Tamas, who played for his country at Euro 2008, is keen on a £3.5m move to Celtic after being transfer listed by French club Auxerre. His agent, Cristian Morosan, claimed: "Celtic approached me at the end of the European Championships to tell me they were interested in signing Gabriel."

The Sun also claimed that Jim Duffy, who worked at Hearts as a coach under Graham Rix, would be interested in going back to Tynecastle as manager.

The Daily Mirror reported Martin O'Neill and his Aston Villa squad were forced to flee their training ground when it was invaded by "two, giant, snarling rottweilers".
