Motorsport: Franchitti to remain in American-based series

ALMOST two months after his Ganassi Racing Nascar Sprint Cup team was disbanded due to a lack of sponsorship, Bathgate's Dario Franchitti has confirmed he will remain in the American-based series.
But the 35-year-old Scot, who dominated IndyCar last season winning the championship and the Indy500, will only contest a limited number of races in the Nationwide Series.

Despite being offered the opportunity to return to open-wheel racing with Ganassi in IndyCar, Franchitti confirmed he plans to compete in seven Nationwide Series races.
