AFTER beating St Johnstone at Pinkie Playing Fields, Musselburgh Windsor girls under-17 squad returned to Perth knowing a victory over their closest rivals would see them crowned league champions 2007/8.
Pre-match nerves quickly disappeared as the Windsor girls set about the task of making this a memorable day.

They took the lead in the 20th minute with a corner kick from Danijela Rae floated into the six-yard box and Kelsey Campbell rose above everyone to bullet home a fine header.

The Windsor girls doubled their lead five minutes before half-time when skipper Kim Borthwick released Lynsay Anderson with a defence-splitting pass and the quick-silver striker raced into the box to fire home. As the match entered the final ten minutes, Saints were awarded a penalty which the Perth side's captain slotted home.

Thankfully, the Windsor rearguard held firm to the final whistle and coach Tam Milne said: "To have become champions with two matches still to play and with some excellent teams in our league is absolutely fantastic, I am so proud of them."
