TRIALIST Simon Lynch boosted his chances of landing a permanent deal with Partick Thistle when he scored twice in their win over Blue Square North outfit Blyth Spartans at Croft Park.

Kevin McKinley headed the Glasgow side into an early lead before Ged Dalton levelled for the hosts. But former Celtic and Dundee striker Lynch ensured victory for Thistle with a penalty on the half hour and a fine finish from about twelve yards on the hour.
