BATHGATE'S Paul di Resta was left kicking himself after he let another podium finish slip from his grasp in the latest round of the German Touring Car Championship at the Norisring in Nuremberg.
The 22-year-old, who started yesterday's race from third on the grid, had been comfortably holding position behind his two Mercedes team-mates, Jamie Green and Bruno Spengler, when he spun at Turn One just as he was set to challenge for the lead.

"I'm not quite sure what happened with the car," Di Resta, who eventually recovered to finish sixth, explained afterwards. "The car was very, very quick and we were set to push for the lead when the car spun.

"It's been a difficult and disappointing weekend to be honest, especially having won the previous round at Lausitz."

The result saw Di Resta slip to third in the championship table, six points behind yesterday's race winner Green and a further two behind the Audi driven by Timo Scheider.
