A MAJOR development of more than 400 houses and flats is set to start in West Lothian.
Members of West Lothian Council's development control committee have granted permission for 376 houses with garages and 86 flats to be built at Westcraigs Road, Blackridge.

The development also makes provision for access to the proposed Blackridge railway station, and includes a park and ride facility for the station, two shop units and play facilities. Over half of the flats planned will be retirement flats supported by a day centre.
