NORTH BERWICK'S Catriona Matthew has jumped 17 places in the rankings following her second top-15 finish of the season in last week's SemGroup Championship in Oklahoma, and she is hoping to continue the good form in the Michelob Ultra Open at the Kingsmill Resort in Virginia.
Matthew has overtaken Glasgow's Janice Moodie as the highest Scot on the LPGA rankings and finished third at Kingsmill three years ago.
Mhairi McKay is the third Scot in the field, and she goes into the £1.1million event boosted by her form at last week's Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish ladies' Open at the Carrick, Loch Lomond. The Turnberry golfer fired a great final round of 68 to slip into the top 20.
McKay said: "This is one of our biggest tournaments of the year so I'm hoping that I can have keep up the good form on the greens."
On the Ladies' European Tour, Clare Queen is also hoping to maintain the good vibes from Loch Lomond in the inaugural Garanti American Express Turkish Open at Antalya.
The 25-year-old matched her best-ever European Tour performance with a tie for sixth place and said: "My goal is to get into more winning positions and stay in the top 20 for the rest of the season."
Archerfield's Lynn Kenny and Strathaven rookie Jenna Wilson are also in the field.
